I''ve been doing a lot of research and am trying to decide on a grain mill to purchase. I''m currently torn between the Barley Crusher (140ish before shipping) and a 3 roller Monster Mill (240ish before shipping. Money isn''t a huge factor. I want quality and I want it to last.

I milled both sets of grain consecutively, starting with the coarse grist, running it through my 2roller mill with a gap setting of inches (1 mm), which cracks the hull and exposes the starch without completely demolishing the grain. This is a common default setting for many popular homebrew mills.

I bought this mill because the Cereal Killer was tearing up the grain husks and I was getting slow sparges and almost stuck mashes on my Grainfather (which is pretty sensitive to grain crush). The crush with the mill is really good. The grain is crushed but the husks are in tact for the most part.
